Insert much too much boring detail about my psychotic work week here. And its only Wednesday. All I have to say is never schedule a system upgrade and an unplanned system outage for applications you are responsible for in the same week if you can avoid it. Just trust me on this. :)

Tonight I rolled home far too late, ditched a pile of work I probably should have paid attention to, pulled on snuggly pants and plopped myself in front of the fire my darling husband cooked up for me.

As an added bonus my sister and I commiserated about the sometimes endless fun of being a technical resource among non-technical people. I had a fabulous laugh over the notes she took in her last implementation meeting:
"Oh, that's a great point (cocksucker). I wonder why you didn't think of it 6 months ago or during the dozens of conversations I've had at you since. This clusterfucking project is getting to be more of a waste of time every day, assholes. Go to hell."

In turn I filled her in on the guilt trip I got for escalating a nearly week long enterprise application outage:
"Today I got a very serious and stern note saying I should be pleased to know they had to interrupt an SVP on his cruise to give him an update on the outage. I'm such an ass! I mean really, who do I think I am?"

The business world is sometimes crude, almost never glamorous, but is always, always good for a laugh if you look at it the right way.
